The Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

About the Operations

The Psychiatry Department is one of nine operational areas within the Hospitals in the West. The department includes both child and adolescent psychiatry and adult psychiatry and has about 300 employees.

The adult psychiatry consists of two inpatient wards that care for general psychiatric patients with subspecialization in addiction, psychosis, and eating disorders. The inpatient wards are located at Kungälv Hospital adjacent to our psychiatric emergency department. The emergency department is closed at night, and our patients are referred to the psychiatric emergency department at SU/Östra. The hospital also has our ECT and rTMS clinics. Our psychiatric outpatient care consists of three clinics located in Kungälv, Stenungsund, and Älvängen, as well as a newly established digital CS clinic. The department also has two specialized clinics: an eating disorder clinic with day care and a DBT clinic. We are now planning to expand our operations with a LARO clinic that will be located close to our inpatient care and emergency department.

We are a well-functioning operation with a tradition of close collaboration, both internally among professional groups and units, and with surrounding municipalities and primary care. Our goal is to provide our patients with the best possible care while also offering our employees a workplace that encourages development and continuing education.

We are now looking for two physicians with specialist competence in psychiatry primarily for our psychiatric outpatient care. The local outpatient clinics are responsible for the population in their municipalities. The clinics have an internal subspecialization where you, as a physician, have the opportunity to develop based on interest and the needs of the operation. There is also the opportunity to participate in building our LARO operations.

You will work closely with your specialist colleagues, both in outpatient and inpatient care, where you support each other and assist during, for example, absences and training, as well as work closely with and supervise ST physicians and other training physicians. You will also be part of our on-call line, which includes day on-call duties and standby on evenings/nights and weekends.

About You

We are looking for someone who has specialist competence in psychiatry. You also need to be on-call competent. As a person, you are calm and secure in your role as a physician. You are structured, flexible, and have an easy time collaborating. You have a good ability to communicate and cooperate with both internal and external partners. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Other

We require a criminal record extract from all who are offered employment within the Psychiatry Department.
